Don't be ashamed

This is what I found on  Pinterest today...a nice quote that represents me and the reason why this blog was written.

So, don't be ashamed of your story . It will inspire others!

What's the difference between Accutane and Roaccutane?

For a long time I was curious to find out what is the difference between Accutane and Roaccutane, so today I've made some research online.

First stop? the official site of the producer: www.roche.com.
From the other sites, I found out that there is no difference between them as composition. Both Accutane and Roaccuane contain Isotretinoin.  The name "Accutane" is more popular in the United States and "Roaccutane" in Europe. Maybe you have noticed that I speak about "Roaccutane"...and guess what? I'm from Europe :)

Who is Roche?
Roche is the producer of both Accutane and Roaccutane and it has the headquarter in Basel, Switzerland.
On the official webiste, "Roaccutane / Accutane  (Isotretinoin) " are listed together, and the info say that the pills are used to treat patients with severe forms of acne.

My Conclusion?
Roaccutane = Accutane

Other observations non-related to the title, but still important:
Also according to the website, Roche admits the danger of birth defects: "Animal tests showed that Accutane/Roaccutan, a medicine to treat severely disfiguring skin diseases, is highly likely to cause birth defects. As a result, doctors are aware of the dangers in prescribing the drug to pregnant women. "

This paragraph caught my attention regarding our discussion about the Roaccutane/Accutane effects:
"Two patients can have the same diagnosis yet respond in different ways to the same medicine. One patient may be helped by treatment, while the other experiences unwanted side effects without the desired clinical benefit. Some of this variability is due to genetic and other biological differences between patients."

After reading all this I can't believe that I've taken this treatment and I'm still alive!
Creepy... but it's better  understand the risks and the probability of appearance.

PS: this summer, in July I will celebrate two years from my last Roaccutane pill. Yey!

questions?

Hello to you !

I hope that you are doing fine today... How is your acne treatment going?  I'm searching ideas for new articles and I need your help... do you have any curiosities or questions?

Today my skin looks pretty good, I don't have any pimples ..just an irritated area above my lip. Why? because a few days ago, when I was watching a movie I couldn't stop scratching my face...so the area was a little bit red :D
Promise I won't do it again :D

Have a lovely day,

Leonore

More about Acne: Morning Routine in 5 steps

1. Sleeping Beauty

During the night, we are like a sleeping beauty:  we forget about the real world, the dreams begin to shape and the and sleep is peaceful (loud snoring is a problem for others, not us :))

2. "mirror mirror on the wall,  who's the fairest of them all ? "

Rise and shine, baby !
What's the first thing that we do after we wake up?
We look in the magic mirror to see "what's new".

I used to call this habit "inventory" because I was keeping track of the old pimples, new pimples, how bad they look and how many days were necessary to heal.
